The Annual JBMDL Volunteer Appreciation Event takes place every year in April to recognize the volunteers of the JBMDL Community. 

The Wing Commander has opening and closing remarks and presents the winners with their certificates and awards.

JBMDL Volunteer Award Categories: Volunteer Excellence Award (VEA); JBMDL AD Member Volunteer of the Year; JBMDL Civilian Volunteer of the Year; JBMDL Family Member Volunteer of the Year (ages 18+); JBMDL Youth Volunteer of the Year (ages 9-17); and JBMDL Key Spouse, Ombudsman, Family Readiness Group Leader Volunteer of the Year.
